Agree to cooperate closely, bringing Vietnam-Saudi Arabia relations to new heights

On the afternoon of October 29, local time, within the framework of attending the 8th Future Investment Initiative Conference (FII8) and visiting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had talks with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

    Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman expressed his pleasure at welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and warmly welcomed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to attend and speak as the main guest of the FII8 Conference. The Crown Prince and Prime Minister affirmed that the participation of Vietnam, a typical country with dynamic economic development in Asia, opens up new opportunities for investors, making an important contribution to the success of the Conference and to the development strategy in the region.

    Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated Saudi Arabia on its achievements in gradually realizing Vision 2030, enhancing the role and position of Saudi Arabia in the Middle East and the world. On this occasion, the Prime Minister conveyed the greetings and invitations of General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to King Salman bin Abdullaziz and invited Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to pay an official visit to Vietnam at a suitable time. Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman sincerely thanked the Vietnamese leaders for their greetings to King Salman bin Abdullaziz and affirmed that he will soon visit Vietnam in the near future.

    In a friendly, open and sincere atmosphere, the two Prime Ministers highly appreciated the remarkable developments in the bilateral relations between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia over the past 25 years and agreed to cooperate closely to bring the relationship to a new height. On that basis, the two leaders agreed to promote the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level delegations both bilaterally and on the sidelines of multilateral forums; make economic cooperation a key pillar in the bilateral relationship, making Saudi Arabia one of the leading investors in Vietnam and aiming to increase bilateral trade turnover to over 10 billion USD by 2030; identifying the pillars of "future cooperation" of the two countries as innovation, green transformation, and digital transformation; make education, tourism, labor and people-to-people exchange a solid foundation for the relationship between the two countries and continue to closely coordinate and support each other on regional and world issues at international forums, especially at the United Nations, to limit risks, enhance dialogue and cooperation for peace and development in the region and the world.

    On that basis, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh encouraged investment in strategic, symbolic and breakthrough fields and projects in Vietnam; consider building a transit center and reserve of crude oil and refined petrochemical products in Vietnam for export to markets in the Southeast Asian region; exploit the potential for developing Vietnam's Halal industry, considering this a key task, both contributing to ensuring food security for Saudi Arabia and opening up opportunities to exploit Vietnam's potential Halal market; connect innovation centers of the two countries; coordinate the organization of international technology exhibitions; cooperation in building an innovation ecosystem in Vietnam and sharing experiences in building an international financial center in Ho Chi Minh City.

    The Crown Prince, Prime Minister agreed with the proposals of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and suggested that the two sides direct ministries and branches to continue discussions to concretize cooperation proposals and realize bilateral cooperation potential.

    On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked the Crown Prince, Prime Minister and relevant agencies to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community living and working in Saudi Arabia to deeply integrate into the locality and actively contribute to the development of the friendly cooperation relationship between the two countries. The Crown Prince, Prime Minister affirmed that he would create favorable conditions for Vietnamese workers to stabilize their lives.

    During the talks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assigned the ministers participating in the delegation to promote immediate exchanges with Saudi Arabian partners to concretize the results of the exchanges between the two Prime Ministers.
